Soo Tired!!

This bath took place before 10 AM. Crazy. Mila got a little.. backed up... from the cereal and had a bit of an explosion :-) After cleaning the couch, I had to bathe her and get her all clean and delicious. It was the first bath with BUBBLES! Isn't she cute?

We are sooo tired today! Yesterday, my good friend Sarah came over with her three kids. Yes, we had five kids here! Three boys! AGH! What was I thinking? Actually.... first, we went to HER house in the morning. In the afternoon, we hit the mall and got her daughters ears pierced. Then she came to my house with her 2843947 kids and we had dinner.

Obviously, we're insane, so we decided to take our 928347937 kids to GALAXYLAND.... On a SATURDAY! What is wrong with us? It was a great time though. We took the kids to see the dragon, but he's off till 6 and it was only 5:30. And we had 2349387 kids! And Robby was REALLY well behaved!
Here are some pictures from today.

Happy Days!

Hello, cyber readers! All is well ( still ) at Casa De Kagan. We spent the day at the park today... Robby seriously enjoys being outside, though he refuses to let me take some pictures of him with a smile... I have to creep around the playground equipment and shoot blind... he refuses to let me take ANY pictures!

Robby is also back onto the no eating thing again... Its driving me crazy!

I am doing really well on my WW and am already down around 6 lbs! I do have hunger issues in the morning... but I am eating all my points and a lot of healthy food... YAY me!

Mila is four months old today. She's such a cutie. We've been trying to feed her bits of cereal and nanas, pears, or squash... She's not big on the squash, but she does pretty well with the pears.

Here are some pictures from today!

For My Daddy

Dear Dad,

Although we haven't always agreed, and often fought, I have always admired you. You have a wealth of knowledge that astounds me (even though I pretend not to be impressed)... You always seem to know where you are going, what you are going to do when you get there, and the entire historical background.

You also have this incredible ability to get the job done. I've been trying to turn to you for help more... You are reliable, determined, and pushy when you need to be pushy. You can be bullheaded sometimes, but you can also bull your way through obstacles that I just throw my hands up and say " Forget it! ".

I love the fact that you read my blog. I love the fact that you haven't figured out how to post comments yet, so you just email me instead. I know Mom reads it too... but its just extra special when you do, because you used to be so computer illiterate that I had to show you everything... Even though it drove me CRAZY to have to stop and wait for you to write everything down, I also really appreciated that you were able to ask me for help. It made me feel really good that I could teach you something!

I am sure you don't remember this, but when I took my drivers test, you wanted to beat the first instructor for being rude to me. The second time I took it ( and past ) you took me right to the driver's license office even though it was a busy day at the store. I was so proud of me. And you made that extra effort to get me my license right then and there...

A few other incidents stick out in my mind. Shortly after I got my license, you and I got into an argument and I was giving you the silent treatment. I locked my keys in the car, and even though we " weren't speaking to each other ", you still called triple A for me when I needed it. I was so impressed at how easily you forgave my really childish behavior...

Remember when I had my car accident? I was terrified! Yet you drove out to me in the snow. I was so glad you were there.

Even though we still don't always agree, and sometimes I roll my eyes ( quietly ) when you launch into another diatribe about you think I should be doing, I do listen to what you say, and I do consider it. After all, you ARE my daddy. So...

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!!
Love,
Sarah F.

Wednesday Update

Well well, my dear cyber readers, update time has come. I am trying to update fairly frequently, but things are very busy here at Casa de Kagan!

Mila has started a few spoonfuls of cereal or banana once or twice a day. She did super awesome with it this morning, but had a hard time napping due to the level of activity.... and I may or many not give her more tonight. I hadn't planned on starting banana so early, except that she leaned over and took a bite of her brothers a few days ago....

We've brought home an exersaucer for Mila.. and she is absolutely in love with it!! Its remarkably portable, thanks to folding legs, and she loooove to be in there , sometimes as long as 15 minutes at time! Thats a LONG time to be in there for someone who is so little!!! Here are two cute pictures of the beautiful girl herself.

I know... its so cute its disgusting. Look at those blue eyes!!! I took a ton more but they are blurry as she starts to wiggle around. As you can see though, she's holding her head perfectly and sitting nice and straight! She does have a bit of a prop behind her as she slumps a bit since she's so tiny... Once she leans back, she can't sit herself up or reach her toys.
On to the brother... the misbehaving, button pushing, limit testing, line toe-ing Robby. A few days ago, Robby colored the white doorstep with a marker... We explained that markers are for paper, and all that good stuff... and made HIM clean it up. Alex and I really hoped that making HIM clean it up would be the end of it. However, today dawned new and exciting things to color.... two HUGE circles on the white painted wall, his desk, his pants and socks, and lastly, thissssssssss... :

Size 12, here I come!

I have been really struggling with my body image since having Mila. I bounced back REALLY fast from having Robby, but right now, I still weigh EXACTLY what I did when I had Mila. Unfortunetly, its because I've been eating so much CRAP - Starbucks, cookies, granola bars, perogies, etc etc!

So, a friend and I are doing Weight Watchers for nursing mothers. Its a bit labor intensive, with lots of label reading! I enter in calories, fiber, and fat into the calculator and it tells me how many " points " I am consuming... And there is a "limit" to the amount of points per day. For someone who is *NOT* nursing, its about 25. For a nursing mother, its up to 37! My goal is 32-37 points a day, which should mean a weight loss of 1 lb per week. That'd be nice! I can "earn" extra points by excersize, or " bank " some points for going out to eat, etc. So.. today is day 1.

I weigh 170 lbs. I am a size 14. My "goal" is 140 right now, which will probably take me all summer!!! Or all year. Whatever! As long as I start LOOKING a little better, and not being so tired, and all the good things that come with eating healthy!

So far today : 1 granola bar ( 3 points ), coffee with milk & sweetner ( 3 points ), 1 slice bread with peanut butter and jam ( 4 points ), 3 baby corn ( 0 points ) a cookie ( 2 points )... I am at 12 points before lunch... Lunch will be salad with tuna - about 6 points if I measure. Things like chickpeas have only 1 point per 1/2 cup, same with beets. Lettuce is nothing. Mustard is nothing. Relish is nothing. I see LOTS of salad in my future!

Back From Calgary

Well, I have to say that the highlight of our trip was the zoo. It was warm but not too incredibly hot, and there was a nice cool breeze. Robby really was an angel for all that he's three years old, and Mila slept very comfortably in the sling the ENTIRE time. I like it when that happens. Robby i still talking about the monkeys, while Alex seems to have a hippo thing. Me, I liked the lions.

And we all stared at the giraffes.

Going to the US consulate was an adventure in and of itself. We got there at 8:30, got into the line at 8:40, went up at 9:00, and were home by 10. That's amazing baby! We even got the forms to make Mila a US citizen. Robby's passport should arrive in a few weeks. My naturalization papers, well, lets just say I think the lawyer is a moron. It just needed ME to sign it and send it to the US... I'm not APPLYING for a naturalization paper, I'm applying for a replacement. So, in other words, had we not ALSO been going for Robbys passport, we woulda been out a whole bunch of money for gas / hotel / food / etc.

Insert Cute Title here

A few pictures of Robby. Isn't he wonderful???? He's got quite the sunrash -heat rash from being at the park so much the last few days. HOwever, its been awsome getting out of the house. It was VERY hot this week - +30* or higher each day, and today it got up to 37*! We didn't head to the park today because of the rash ... I decided to let it heal for a bit before spraying it with more sunscreen and bugspray. And be VERY thankful for these photos - I had to chase him around the park to get them!

Thank you to Grandma who bought Mila this adorable dress. Its coming in VERY handy in this warm weather! I also went and bought mila a sunbonnet, pictures of which will likely be coming in the next post or so.
Please bear with us as we will not be home for the next several days while we travel to Calgary. I am a little nervous about driving the 3 hours with Mila, but hopefully she'll sleep and not require us to stop too many times.
